Compares two .dmn files and produces a structured representation of their differences. DMN 1.0 → 1.5. No platform dependencies.

ID-based identity

Elements are matched by their XML id attribute — moving a rule up/down produces zero diff. Structural changes are correctly identified as add/remove.

Every field change is classified as breaking, non-breaking, or cosmetic. Breaking changes are highlighted and surface first.

Human-readable prose (default), row-diff table (--rows), structured JSON (--json), or raw XML diff (--xml).

Exit code 1 when changes are detected. Drop it into any pipeline to gate on semantic DMN changes.

Handles all namespace variants, defaults (hitPolicy, isCollection), CDATA vs entities, BOM, whitespace, and DMNDI exclusion.

Only @veridtools/dmn-parser at runtime. No platform SDKs, no network calls, no LLM required.
